Hector Mann & the Fizzy Pop Lemonade Factory is a live performance, constructed in a converted truck, played by actors with exaggerated gestures, a hyperkinetic pianist and sophisticated blue-key techniques. Lots of action and violence, contrasted against the solitude and tranquility of a park at night or a square in the city at night. The creation of this outdoor show arose from SkaGeN’s fascination for the early years of animated film. A pre-sentation with few words, but far more emotion and spectacle!
SKaGeN is a theatre company that has
been producing highly successful plays in Flanders and the
Netherlands since 2000, both on the art circuit and the
more public-oriented festival circuit (e.g. Summer of Antwerp).
SKaGeN is distinguished by its combination of artistic
experiment and accessibility. SKaGeN was formed by Valentijn
Dhaenens, Korneel Hamers, Mathijs Scheepers et Clara van den
Broek., members of a class that graduated from the renowned Antwerp
Conservatory, headed by a name in Flemish theatre,
Dora van der Groen, and the internationally acclaimed theatre and
opera director Ivo Van Hove. The group has developed into
one of the leading theatre companies of its generation. SKaGeN has build a tradition to adapt
great novels for theatre. SKaGeNs versions of La Peste by A. Camus,
Voyage au bout de la nuit by L.F.Céline and Berlin
Alexanderplatz by A. Döblin are successful examples of this.
